Around September of 2016 I was retiring and due for touch ups. I tried North Florida Aesthetics for my first time. Kim (the owner)was running a promotion at the time. When you buy 2 syringes of Voluma ,(good for cheeks ) you get 1 syringe of restalyn silk (Good for lips) for free.

I told Kim exactly what I wanted. We agreed to put 1 syringe of Voluma in the right cheek , one syringe of Voluma In the left cheek and the free syringe of restylin silk for my lips.

Kim started on the first cheek. I was excited to see ...she wouldn't let me look in the mirror until she was done with the first cheek. She said was an artist and to relax; that she had been doing this for years. After the reassurance I felt comfortable and trusted her. When Kim said she was done with the first cheek, In excitement, I pulled up the mirror.

This was when my heart sunk into my chest because Kim decided to use both syringes of the Voluma in one cheek ! This forced me to by TWO more syringes of Voluma to match the other cheek.. mind you the syringes are $850 a syringe at the time , this means I had to spend and additional $1700.. (no free restyln silk syringe with the second round because Kim claimed the promo was good for just one time). In frustration I went with the flow.

After Kim filled up the other side of my cheek with two entire syringes of Voluma I was ready to finally move to my lips. Kim switched things up again. She refused to use the restylyn silk in my lips (which was what we initially agreed on!) and insisted using it in my cheeks. I had no choice so I relaxed and let her do her thing.

I was disappointed I didn't get to have my lips done with the restylyn silk. Kim did offer to put juvaderm in my lips for just an additional $600 something and told me I should consider more in my cheeks too. At this point she already used FIVE syringes in my face not to mention how uncomfortable the procedures feel .Needless to say I was ready to leave. I left feeing extremely dissapointed.

I expected swelling but not after two months. it looked like I had gummy worms living under my eyes. I kept thinking the "swelling" would go down as I was told in the after care instructions . I spoke to Kim and the front desk receptionist, Alexandra. I sent photos. They kept reassuring me it would be fine and it's just swelling. After several more weeks went by I called the office and I kept getting sent to a voicemail that said the office was closed.. during open business hours which I found quite bizarre.

Long story short I finally got Kim on the phone . It got to the point where Kim got very nasty and unprofessional about the situation; She made me feel as if she could care less.. unless I wanted to come back for more work which meant spending more money to fix problems she created. I've never experienced such unethical business practices in my life. I don't know how this woman sleeps at night.

It was very noticeable. I decided I needed to go to a cosmetic surgeon that couldn't believe the story . He used hyaluronic acid to dissolve and smooth Kim's art. It helped smooth things out so it wasn't as noticeable , but unfortunately still noticeable.

I've been going to see Kim at North Florida Aesthetics for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is thoughtful and always calls a few days after my service to see how I'm feeling. The only time I ever had bruising was when I (against their advice and mentioned in the "too much legal paperwork") continued taking fish oil supplements. There's a reason they make that suggestion! Also mentioned in their very thorough paperwork is that there is not a physician in the office most of the time.
This is because they don't do surgeries or other medically risky procedures. An MD is not required, nor is one necessary. If having an MD is important to someone, they should go see a plastic surgeon and pay four times as much as what NFA charges. They also offer free LED light therapy to all of their patients after their treatment, so there is really good follow up support care available. I find their prices to be competitive for what I am getting. And I'm sorry, but my face is not a place I'm willing to skimp :)
